Updates 09.29.2015

Tutorial started this week! If your student is in tutorial ask them how it is going. I saw many schoalrs hard at work yesterday as I peeked in on some classrooms.

IRL this week: vocabulary

This week students will be finding new or interesting vocabulary words in their just right books. They will record the page number in their book that they found the term, define the term, and use the term in a sentence to show me that they understand the meaning of the word.

This Friday we will be testing students on their Native American Unit. They will be able to bring home their social studies notebook to study thursday night. We will also do extensive preparation and review in class.

In writing we are continuing our narrative writing. These pieces will be completed after the break Ask your scholar how their piece is coming along. We have some great young authors in our class!

FIELD TRIP RESCHEDULE

We have worked diligently to reschedule our first field trip of the year, which we had to cancel due to rain. We are happy to announce that we will be attending the Wylde Center in Decatur, GA on Tuesday, October 13th. Buses will leave promptly at 9:30 AM and will return to school at 2:00 PM. There are no changes to this trip except for the date. However, because of the date change, we do need you to complete this form with the updated information.

If you have already paid $8 for the field trip and your child can NOT attend, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
