Updates 10/26

Hello all: Like Ms.Higgins said, it’s red ribbon week. We talked about what it means to be healthy and drug free. Ask your scholar what they learned. If you have forgotten, here is the schedule Ms. Higgins sent out: On Tuesday, it's Tacky Day. Wear a really tacky outfit to school! Wednesday is Team Day--have your student wear his or her favorite team jersey. On Thursday, students can wear a cap to "Put a Cap on Drugs" Friday, the day before Halloween, have your student dress up as his or her favorite book character. We teachers will be doing the same! I suspect there will be some cool pictures from this day! This week our IRL skill is: INFERENCING Please ask your student to explain this skill to you. We had an extensive discussion about the expectations for the Reading Logs and the skill of the week. Also, attached is a screenshot of our board from today. Look for a recess agreement coming home today. your student will not be allowed to go to recess until this document is signed. If you need an additional copy, please let us know. Friday students are allowed to dress up as their favorite book character. Today they are bringing home a planning sheet. They planned out who they want to be and what they will need to accomplish this. Please look through it with your scholar and plan accordingly, they are so excited and we cannot wait to see how awesome they look. REMEMBER this is only for kids who achieved dress out this Friday.
