Reading and Writing- We are still working on our non-fiction unit. Scholars are becoming quite the young researchers! Ask them about their topic. We will be investigating different sources this week while continuing how to read non-fiction literature.
IRL: Students are to complete their IRL FOR ANY 3 DAYS THIS WEEK. It will be taken for a grade Friday November 20th. They also have WTW assignments and grammar to complete. This is all DUE FRIDAY. We went over all of the expectations today in class.
Social Studies- This week we are jumping into our new Social Studies Unit: British Colonial America.
This week we will be working on the introduction to the colonies and conduction some in class research.

Social Studies Curricular Unit: British Colonial America
Relevant Standards:
SS4H3 The student will explain the factors that shaped British colonial America.
a. Compare and contrast life in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern colonies.
b. Describe colonial life in America as experienced by various people, including large landowners, farmers, artisans, women, indentured servants, slaves, and Native Americans.
SS4G2c. Explain how the physical geography of the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern colonies helped determine economic activities practiced therein.
SS4E1b. Explain how price incentives affect people’s behavior and choices (such as colonial decisions about what crops to grow and products to produce).
SS4E1c. Describe how specialization improves standards of living (such as the differences in the economies in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern colonies).
SS4E1d. Explain how voluntary exchange helps both buyers and sellers (such as prehistoric and colonial trade in North America).
