Updates 01.19.16

Hello all!

Please take note of a few reminders for our class:

PLEASE SEND IN YOUR $15.00 Deposit FOR THE FIELD TRIP TOMORROW. WE ARE ACTIVELY PLANNING FUNDRAISERS TO HELP PAY FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP. PLEASE SEND IN YOUR DEPOSIT TOMORROW.

IRL--- Students will illustrate a scene from their book each night. They will be due Monday with the weekend work completed. Please read them over with your scholar to make sure that you are completely aware of how they will be graded.

WTW--- This week we will be using a list of "No Excuse" words that scholars should spell correctly every time that they write them. The nightly homework is on their handout which will be coming home in their communication folder tonight.

HOMEWORK--- Many students are not turning in homework. The work assigned for home is vital for our scholars to be successful. If they do not complete their homework, they will be in Specials Detention. Please impress upon your scholars how important it is to complete their homework. I will be taking grades for homework and checking throughout the week.

NEW COMPOSITION BOOK--- We need new composition books for our scholars. We are out of room and we need new ones for ELA/SS. It would be AWESOME if we could have 2 per scholar. If you are able, please send them in with your scholar to use immediately.

INTERVIEWS--- Scholars will be coming home tonight with a 20 question interview for an adult. This is for our biography unit. Please take some time to sit down with your scholar and allow them to conduct an interview. This assignment is due 01/20/16.

DOJO--- Please check DOJO for pictures of our board and homework assignments daily.

BENCHED--- If a student accrues more than -15 points on DOJO they are benched. This will result in specials detention UNTIL they have a day where they get less than -3/day. If you have any questions please let us know.
