Hello all:

Only 5 days until our Winter Break. We are going to beeeee very busy Bees this week in 4th grade!

We have a classroom challenge of NO VISITS TO RECOVERY for a doughnut party (vegan one for Tosheeyah :) on Friday! I know we can do it!

This week in social studies we will be continuing our work with Westward expansion and creating a timeline of our studies thus far. Ask your scholar about our activities in class!

In readers and writers workshop we will be working with our Ready Common Core test prep. The scholars are acting out Robin Hood Today and we will be answering questions on the text. They are really having fun with this.

Today we came up with a list of test taking strategies, look at the picture below to see what your scholars came up with.

You may see some different homework this week. I will be searching for passages and creating questions for nightly homework. Scholars will be asked to RACE their answer to the question. We will go over it the next day in class so it is VERY important to complete this homework EVERY night that it is assigned.

IRL SKILL- Summarizing. Students will be reading Lewis and Clark (I printed these out and gave them to schools today) and summarizing their passage for each night's homework.
